Texas couple married 46 years survive COVID-19, cancer together

An African American couple from Texas have celebrated another wedding anniversary, and this year the two have a lot to thank God for.

Robert and Janice Beecham, high school sweethearts who have been married for 46 years, have each face life-threatening medical challenges this year. However, together they have survived, loving each other even more than when they were teens.

The Beechams spoke to CNN where they explained that they followed safety precautions, yet they still came down with COVID-19.

Woman found hanging in her White Roommate’s garage in McKinney Texas

Reports coming in of a woman named “Gloria Bambo, a resident of McKinney, Texas. It’s alleged she was found hanging inside of her roommate’s garage.

Statement from McKinney-PD:

The McKinney Police Department typically does not comment on suicides, including naming the deceased, but due to the public nature of this case we feel the need to clarify some inaccuracies.

A number of posts on social media have speculated about the death of Gloria Bambo, a 20-year-old Black female. Ms. Bambo’s body was discovered by her 19-year-old male housemate who has fully cooperated during the investigation. All evidence in the case so far leads investigators to believe it was suicide. The Medical Examiner’s findings are still pending but the preliminary examination of the body has not uncovered any evidence to contradict what was discovered at the residence.

This case is still under investigation and is not closed at this time. We are committed to a complete, thorough investigation of Ms. Bambo’s tragic death and we grieve the tragic loss of this promising, young life.

Angelo Walker faces murder charges in the fatal shooting death of 22-year-old transgender woman, Merci Mack.

Dallas police have arrested a 20-year-old man in connection with the shooting death of a Black transgender woman, officials say. 

Authorities say Angelo Walker is responsible for killing 22-year-old Merci ‘Pooda’ Mack in east Oak Cliff last month.

Walker was arrested Wednesday by the North Texas Fugitive Task Force. He faces a murder charge and remains in jail in lieu of a $900,000 bail, according to court records.

On June 30, Mack was found with multiple gunshot wounds in the parking lot of The Rosemont Apartments and died from her injuries. 

Merci Mack was known to her family as “Pooda.”
