Heath mom molested son’s friend, 13, arrest affidavit says

A Rockwall County mother, Natalie Sorrells of Heath, faces serious allegations of sexual assault involving her son’s 13-year-old friend, as detailed in an arrest affidavit obtained.

Charged in February with two counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child and two counts of indecency with a child, Sorrells’ legal troubles stem from the discovery of deleted text messages between her and the child by the mother of the victim. In these messages, Sorrells addressed the minor as “babe,” according to the affidavit.

Following this revelation, weeks later, the child confided in his mother, disclosing that he had been molested by Natalie Sorrells. Subsequently, during a forensic interview at the Rockwall Children’s Advocacy Center, the 13-year-old recounted multiple instances of inappropriate contact with Sorrells dating back to April 2023.

The detailed account included two specific incidents where Sorrells engaged in inappropriate touching. Furthermore, the child described instances of sexual contact, such as an encounter in a car after being picked up from a football game and at a party hosted for Sorrells’ son, as outlined in the affidavit.

Adding complexity to the situation, the child reported that during one encounter, Sorrells received a call from her husband questioning her fidelity. This incident was documented in official police records.

Beyond the allegations of sexual assault, the 13-year-old also informed law enforcement that Sorrells provided him and several friends with alcohol and tobacco on multiple occasions.

As the legal proceedings unfold, court records indicate that the 44-year-old has posted bond, raising further questions about the upcoming resolution of this distressing case.
