Dallas is thinking about updating its no-smoking rules to include vaping. Experts explained to city council members on Monday about the dangers of e-cigarettes, like breathing in the secondhand aerosol. Even though they’re still studying the effects of breathing in this kind of e-cigarette smoke, experts told the Dallas City Council that there are links to cancer and symptoms similar to asthma.
Renee Roberson, an environmental commissioner in District 8, shared her experience as a school nurse with council members. She said, “It rewires the kids into something negative. Kids who are bright, then their focus becomes the vaping.”
