UPDATE (11:20 p.m.): The suspect in today’s assault is in custody. Jason Lata, 44, was arrested after Denton PD detectives obtained an arrest warrant for assault causes bodily injury. Lata is currently in the City of Denton Jail. Bail is set at $15,000.

Police are investigating an assault reported at the Denton Buc-ee’s Saturday.
Police began investigating just before 12:45 p.m., when Denton PD officers were called to a local hospital.
The victim said he was assaulted by an unknown man at Buc-ee’s.
During the argument, a man punched the victim, who suffered a cut below his right eyebrow and a broken tooth.
The suspect was last seen in a dark-colored Dodge Ram.
