A disturbing video showing a man being violently beaten by a gang in Dallas has recently gone viral. The footage, which was posted on the social media platform X, depicts a limp man being brutally assaulted, with gunshots heard in the background. The video, shared by the far-right account “Libs of TikTok,” has garnered nearly six million views. What “Libs of TikTok” overlooked, if authentic, it failed to mention Dallas, Colorado, not Dallas, Texas.
According to the Dallas Observer, the Dallas Police Department has been investigating the criminal activities of the Tren de Aragua gang, a Venezuelan criminal organization, in North Dallas. The department confirmed to the Observer that they have been looking into the presence of this gang in the area and are collaborating with other agencies to address potential crimes.
“Our department is collaborating with other agencies to address possible crimes linked to this and other gangs in our city,” a department spokesperson stated. “It’s an ongoing investigation, so I’m sure they’re looking into [all crimes],” the spokesperson added, noting that the investigation covers various criminal activities, including drugs and violence.
The credibility of the viral video remains unconfirmed by the police. The video’s content and its claims have sparked heated debate, with the post on “Libs of TikTok” reading, “Violent illegal alien gangs are taking over American cities. This is Kamala’s America.” The video was further amplified by Austin Congressman Chip Roy, who called for “mass deportations” in his retweet.
Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson was contacted for comment on the potential threat posed by the Tren de Aragua gang in North Texas but has not yet responded.
