Dak Prescott, Dallas Cowboys Quarterback, Initiates Legal Action Against Woman Over Sexual Assault Allegations

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott has lodged a civil lawsuit against a Fort Worth woman, asserting that she falsely accused him of sexual assault in a $100 million extortion attempt. Filed in Collin County on Monday, Prescott’s legal team, led by attorney Levi G. McCathern of Dallas, contends that the quarterback was targeted in an extortion scheme and vehemently denies any sexual assault occurred.

McCathern stated, “Mr. Prescott — a new father to a baby girl — has great empathy for survivors of sexual assault,” emphasizing Prescott’s commitment to holding perpetrators accountable. He clarified that Prescott has never engaged in nonconsensual sexual conduct. The accuser and her legal representatives allegedly threatened to publicly disclose a fabricated sexual assault story from nearly a decade ago, demanding $100 million to avoid false charges.

Prescott’s legal team reported the criminal actions to the authorities and expressed full cooperation in the investigation. The NFL star seeks $1 million in relief, intending to donate any recovered funds to the Joyful Heart Foundation, an organization supporting sexual assault survivors.

The defendant’s attorney, Bethel Zehaie, countered the claims, alleging the assault occurred in 2017. Zehaie accused Prescott of lying and labeled him a rapist, asserting that Prescott confirmed being with the accuser on the night of the alleged assault. Zehaie emphasized their commitment to the truth, dismissing Prescott’s legal tactics.

According to Prescott’s lawsuit, the defendant’s legal team sent a letter on Jan. 16 detailing an incident in Plano around Feb. 2, 2017. The letter claimed Prescott invited the woman out, showed his genitals during a car ride, and sexually assaulted her later. The woman’s attorney sought $100 million in damages, setting a deadline of Feb. 16, 2024, for response.

The defendant’s legal team stated on Monday their intention to file a criminal complaint. Dallas Cowboys officials have not commented on the ongoing lawsuit.
