A cafeteria worker was shot and killed on Wednesday morning in the Forest Hill Elementary School parking lot, as stated by Forest Hill Mayor Stephanie Boardingham. According to the Forest Hill Police, the victim, an employee at David K. Sellars Elementary School, was shot multiple times while in conversation with someone in a vehicle in the rear parking lot. Police arrived at the scene on Dorsey Street around 6:50 a.m., provided first aid, and transported the injured woman to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth, where she later died.
The police identified the suspected shooter as having driven away in a silver Chevrolet Impala, found unoccupied later in Fort Worth. The authorities confiscated the car for evidence to confirm the suspect’s identity. No suspects have been publicly named or arrests announced as of Wednesday afternoon.
Mayor Boardingham shared limited information due to the ongoing investigation but expressed condolences. The victim’s identity will be released after notifying her family. Forest Hill ISD confirmed the incident and the victim’s staff status, assuring parents of no ongoing threat and continuing normal school schedules. The district promised counseling support for students and staff.
