Stephen Paddock’s brother tells me he was “just a guy” who loved gambling, so he retired and moved to Nevada. He even won $250,000 grand at one point.
However, Paddock went on to kill at least 50 and injure another 400 on Sunday fire on an outdoor country music festival.
His family is left shock, as no one saw this coming.
Paddock’s younger brother Eric said that Stephen always kept in contact, even texting him after hurricane Irma to check up on him and his mother.
Eric says that nothing in those interactions suggested that Stephen was about to become the man responsible fro the most deadly mass shooting in modern American history.
“Not an avid gun guy at all. The fact that he had those kinds of weapons is… Just where the hell did he get automatic weapons? He has no military background or anything like that,” Eric went on to say.
Eric and his brother used to be in business together until Stephen moved to Nevada. Stephen wanted to retire quietly there.
The family says that Stephen has no history of mental illness. They are cooperating with investigators and they send their condolences to the families of everyone who was hurt or killed.
